Although homecoming activities began earlier than usual this year, the turnout for the activities has been great!
Monday night kicked homecoming week off with a volleyball tournament sponsored by the freshmen class. There were 28 teams who participated in the event, with excellent participation from the freshmen class who had four teams of there own!
The competition was fierce, but in the end, only one team could win the title of homecoming volleyball champ. The game ended with a score of 15-13 with the sophomore class defeating Lambda Chi Alpha. Congratulations to the members of the winning team: Josh Williard, Stephen Ajayi, Michael Byerly, Ryan Horsley, Mark Bogdan, Jen Brackbill, and Kyle Hopkins.
Wacky Olympics brought a fun crowd to the rec center. Students participated in a variety of wacky sports events. Lerin Hill showed her basketball skills and took home the gold in both the knockout contest and the 3 point contest. Britt Timko was the winner in the dizzy bat contest. Placing first in the limbo contest was Kelly Howerter, while Michele Connors placed first in the hula hoop contest. Lacey Pietropaolo stole the stage at the rhythmic gymnastics contest, and Andy Lutzkanin raced to a victory in the scuba race obstacle course. All winners received great prizes, but the biggest prize of the night, $100 cash, was taken home by Mark Lipka.
