CONSTITUTION OF THE
CAMPUS ACTIVITIES BOARD
Article I: NAME
The name of the organization shall be Campus Activities Board of Lycoming College, hereafter referred to in this document as “CAB.”
Article II: PURPOSE
CAB shall, to the best of its ability, serve the interests and needs of the Lycoming College student body through a student activities program with a two-fold responsibility:
1. To serve as an advisory board to the Director of Student Programs, hereafter referred to in this document as the “Director,” concerning the activities sponsored by that office.
2. Within the limitations of this document, and in coordination with the Director, plan the events and administer the programs funded by the general budget.
CAB may be given additional responsibilities upon the approval of the Director.
Article III: MEMBERSHIP
Membership of CAB shall consist of the following:
1. Any student who expresses an interest in the well-being of CAB.
2. CAB should be a representative body and should include, if possible, membership from the Student Association of Lycoming College, the Greek community, and the non-resident population.
3. Every member of CAB must be an active participant in at least one Standing Committee of CAB, including officers on the Executive Board.
Any member of CAB may be removed from the organization under the guidelines stated in the By-Laws.
Article IV: OFFICERS
A. The Executive Board of CAB shall consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Committee Chairpersons, and the Director. This Board shall, in the intervals between meetings of CAB, act with the powers of CAB.
B. Members of the Executive Boards shall be elected under the guidelines stated in the By-Laws.
C. Members of the Executive Board will fulfill the duties and responsibilities of their position as stated in the By-Laws.
Article V: GENERAL PROVISIONS
The program and
activities funded through the college budget are subject to the approval of
the Director.
CAB shall meet
periodically, in the accordance with its By-Laws.
CAB may establish committees to carry out its responsibilities, as it deems necessary.
Article VI: RATIFICATION
This document shall be considered enacted when it has been approved by:
1. A two-thirds vote of the Assembly of the Student Senate.
2. The Administration of the College.
Article VII: AMENDMENTS
This Constitution may be amended by a two-thirds vote of the Executive Board.
